There are times when the factory supplied equipment just cannot handle the job. The factory thermostats are engineered to open at 195°, which may be too late for the engine to cool the fluid and keep it cool. The Jet Thermostat is a direct replacement, designed to open up sooner, allowing the coolant to run through the radiator and stay away from the overheating point, usually around 210°-215°, where water boils.
