Car manufacturers can agree on one thing: there’s only so much you can do to ensure a car becomes popular once you have it out there in the market. Sure, you can make the best car, with the most exciting specifications but you can never really control whether the market loves it or not. That is entirely a decision made by the consumers. However, as everyone knows, if something is rare, it becomes highly prized since demand outweighs supply. Consumers like that which is hard to get, well in some cases at least. Which is why some car manufacturers will only release a small batch of a certain car, and in the process heighten demand and intrigue. And that is

The New Grand Cherokee Qualifies for Eco-Car Tax Incentive in Japan

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the 2nd only gas-powered, all-American, vehicle to qualify for the Eco-Car consumer tax incentive in Japan. The tax incentive is worth between ¥58,000 and ¥66,000. This goes to all 2017 Grand Cherokee buyers. The other model that qualified for this tax incentive is the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. In addition to this qualification, in Japan, this model has also earned the 4-stars emissions rating; a requirement for qualifying for Eco-Car tax program. Needless to say, in Japan, Jeep is the top-selling American vehicle brand. Qualifying for the tax program and having a 4-star emission rating does not mean the Grand Cherokee is an under performer. The vehicle is powered by the upgraded version of

Seventy Five Great Years of the Jeep

For 75 years, Jeep has managed to do what many manufacturers only dream of: produce iconic products that boast of utilitarian toughness while at the same time adapting to meet the needs of today in order to remain relevant. It is fair to argue that the first Jeeps were the pioneers of the SUV. The history of the Jeep can be traced all the way to the Bantam through to the CJ, YJ, TJ and finally today’s Wrangler. One of the biggest milestones that the Jeep has undergone happened with the release of the four-door Unlimited model in 2007. This model stretched both the wheelbase and overall length by 20.6’’, a fact that makes the front seats more usable. There

The leaked photos are blurry as they were snapped at a presentation using a smartphone by an attendee in a recent dealer event. The photos have the fans of Grand Wagoneer excited and eagerly waiting for the debut of the next generation model which is predicted to be launched no sooner than 2019. In the leaked photos, slides appear to show lineup from Renegade through the Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and the new Grand Wagoneer. In the lineup, the first and the

For FCA, the Jeep is a crucial brand with thousands of loyal fans who continue to rack up sales year after year. For the 75 years that it has been in existence, the Jeep has commanded itself a loyal following that is not about to change allegiance anytime soon. Perhaps it is the need to keep this loyal fan base happy that the Jeep has taken to evolve their line-up from time to time, and always coming up with features that are practical and usable. Take for instance the new small SUV, the Compass. The Compass is somewhat between the Renegade and the Cherokee, with some bit of inspiration getting drawn from the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. Jeep Liberty: Reports of airbag failure under investigation

Publish on , by
The Jeep Liberty succeeded one of America’s original compact SUVs, the Cherokee. True to the Jeep lineage, the Liberty proved itself worthy especially in matters off-road, thanks to exceptional suspension travel and articulation. While the Liberty was acclaimed for these, there were also loud cries about its lackluster performance in terms of the interior refinement and fuel economy. With the second generation of the Liberty being produced between 2008 and 2012, some of the first generation’s errors were rectified. Still, there were some things that appeared to have escaped the eyes of the engineers. One such is the airbag functionality. It has been reported that the U.S government is undertaking investigations to get to the bottom of reports that air

All in all, you should note that the future of this model is still murky. There are no official launch dates that have been set and the details regarding the Grand Wagoneer are nothing but scanty. All that fans can do is predict what the new vehicle might be. The patent drawings show the different angles of a broad-sided, 3-row Jeep which indicates the brand may
